Mr. Vess,

I can't wait till I'm back in Abingdon and can see the fountain in person!

I had the wonderful opportunity to work on some of the Stardust Festival projects with the WKRAC a couple of years ago. Since then, I've come to VCU as a student. I work in the on-campus bookstore, and we're very fortunate to be having "mini-convention" for comics and animation. I thought I might venture an invitation to you, should you like to come to your alma mater as an inspiration to students interested in the comics and illustration, or simply to enjoy our small celebration of the comic-craft world.

Our "B&N-Con" will be held on a Sunday in October. If you find yourself interested, please feel free to write to either me, Sarah Prescott, at prescottsk@vcu.edu, or my manager, Cindy Godney, at pgosney@vcu.edu.

I count my time working with WKRAC for the Stardust Festival as one of the most fun times I've ever had in my life, and the chance to study your work on a slightly more than purely-for-pleasure basis the kick in the butt I needed to get going with my small group's art efforts. In that, I thank you for being the inspiration that you have presented, as corny as that sounds.

Best wishes to you,
