Generally I don't comment on websites, but I'd just like to mention that this post really has forced me to do so! Thanks for your insightful post.

Congratulations. In the meantime this reminded me that I had two drawings by you from 72. "His Curious Occupation" and "Peepers" an artist proof which I purchased from a comic seller renting from my bookstore in Alexandria, VA. I guess you were still in school but I liked you pretty early on. I'm a Rackham fan too. Keep up the amazing work.

Hello Charles,

As I read Susanna Clarke's 'The Ladies of Grace Adieu' I thought at first that the beautifully drawn illustrations were done by a hand sharing a time frame with the Doyles or Arthur Rackham. What a nice surprise to know these and other great illustrators are still alive through your hand!

Though I have not been long involved with the world of fantasy/faerie art, I happily visited there through my friendship with Ellen Kushner
When we worked together on her book, 'The Golden Dreydl'(Charlesbridge, 2007) and this year on her radio play, 'The Witches of Lublin'.

Having visited your site and blog, I hope you count me as a fan!
In turn, I invite you to visit my own site, www.winnlederer.com.
Also my blog where more recent work is posted regularly.

I look forward to meeting you there!

Best Regards,
Ilene

Hi Charles. My wife and I very much enjoyed this book. We'd like a signed copy of this book, but were in CT which is a very long drive. Would you be willing to sign our book if we mailed it to you (return postage included, of course)?

Definitely sculptors use many different materials in their work such as stone, bronze, clay, iron, steel, paper, metal, marble, wood, soap, chocolate, butter, balloons, ice, snow, and sand. There are many end products including carousels, dolls, animals, action figures, mobiles, and kinetic sculptures. These pieces of art maybe placed inside or outside. Gargoyles on building ledges and sculpture gardens are two examples of outside sculptures.
