World Fantasy Award #3!

Last Sunday afternoon my friend Ellen Kushner (who WAS attending the 2010 World Fantasy Convention in Columbus, OH) called me from the banquet saying that she’d just been informed that I’d won the award for “Best Artist.” Did I want to write an acceptance speech which she would then read when she went up on stage to accept the honor in my place? INSTRUCTIONS DEBUT

Over the weekend I celebrated the release of “Instructions” at the May Day Faerie Festival at Spoutwood by selling every one of the copies I toted up there. People really embraced the book as they came back to buy multiple copies for friends and family. Then I learned this evening that “Instructions” will debut at #4 on the NY Times Bestseller List (for Children’s Books) this weekend which thrills me to no end. This weekend I will be at TCAF in Toronto to celebrate even further – so do come by if you’re around!

It will be easy to transfer those text and images here soon when all is up and running again. In the meantime, we pack for Florida and ICFA (see Appearances Page) to get away from this cold rain (and possible snow). Karen

B&N book signing

Hey, if any of you live in my area, I’ll be signing copies of my new art book, Drawing Down the Moon and whatever else you care to bring by at Barnes & Noble in Johnson City, Tn. this Saturday from 3-6pm. The appearance was originally scheduled for back in mid December but was snowed out. Hopefully the weather will co-operate this weekend. The store is located at 3030 Franklin Terrace. Ph: (423) 952-5577. I’ll also have a set of proofs from my new book collaboration with Neil Gaiman,  Instructions, to show off if you stop by. See you there, Charles
