Blueberry finishes

Lordy, my back can really tell that I’ve spent the last several days (weeks) chained up in my studio struggling to finish my illustrations for the ‘Blueberry Girl’ picture book. But I am finished! I can now answer e-mails, pick up the phone, maybe even venture outside into the rather sweltering late summer air of southwestern Virginia. Neil’s poem is quite beautiful and I had to go a few extra miles to live up to his words. I still need to hand letter the book but right now I’m going to relax…

Enjoy!
Charles

  1. Woohoo! Congratulations Charles! So glad to hear you can finally enjoy a bit of a well-earned rest.

By the way, I’ve now seen Stardust twice and all my friends have been bringing back great reviews for it.

  2. Stardust was absolutely wonderful! It would have been so lovely to see the ship sail into the giant tree and the market place take place in the forest, but it was still great. I don’t see how you stretch yourself to create so much, but I’m glad you do. Enjoy the escape!

  3. I loved Stardust, the movie and the book, it was also my first reading of Gaiman’s work, which makes me want to go out and read MORE of his stuff.

Your artwork is such an inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing your process and thoughts on this blog!
